I have a website…  How do I make it create leads?

Would anybody you know get value from this?

So the issue isn’t if you have a website or not.  This should be a given by now.

But now we need to make sure YOUR WEBSITE IS A TOOL.
A tool that generates leads and sales.
That helps you increase revenues instead of just racking up expenses

    Let’s get real here.
Even if you’re a B2B manufacture your website should be generating you leads.
Even if you’re a home remodeler who has relied on word of mouth for years.  Your website needs to generate leads for you.
Even if you’re a dentist who has never done any marketing.
It’s time to grow – and achieving that means optimizing your website for growth

Let’s start the journey of Website Optimization

I’ve mentioned “leads / sales leads” a lot in the past couple paragraphs but how do we define that?
It’s someone who has expressed interest in you, your brand, your product, or your service.

This might be a lot of people who come to your website.
But – The crucial step (that most people skip) –  is getting the contact information from those people.

Why?  So we can nurture and educate these leads through the decision making process – Ultimately shortening the sales cycle.

What does it take to get that contact information?

A clear and specific Call to Action (CTA).

A lot of websites built without the simple purpose of generating leads simply have information about the company and what they do.  This is great and all, but unless the potential customer is going to call you immediately there is no other way for you to interact with them.

So how can we meet them halfway?  Providing them with value by something you’re willing to give away for free.
To tell you the truth the options are limitless.  But the more value you offer the better.

Here are a couple examples I know work well:
  • “We offer a free consultation with a home remodeling specialist – Get Access Here”
  • “8 step test to determine if you’re a good candidate for a lasik surgery”
  • (or the classic) “5 Forgotten Keys in Web Design” –  pdf guide
  • All of these obviously require the user to input at least their email and often their name.
After they take that action we’ll provide them with the offer. And then continue with a sequence of emails.
This is really the most valuable part.  But that will be another blog post in itself.

    So quick takeaways.

    – How can you meet your customer half way?
    – What’s your clear Call to action?
    – Are you providing your customer with value?

Coming up next week I’m going to make a quick list of 10 Reasons Your Site Needs to be Optimized.
    Thanks for reading.
